The Galactic Republic
First the Galactic Republic is the “good guys” in SWTOR. This is likely to be by far the most popular faction because of this (and the part where they get to be Jedi). The Galactic Republic is a peaceful organization conglomeration of planets and has been invaded in the past by the Sith Empire. So there will be lots players choose this faction.
 
You can find all that from the classes that available for the Galactic Republic, they are: the Smuggler, Trooper, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Consular. The Sith Empire has the Imperial Agent, the Bounty Hunter, the Sith Warrior, and the Sith Inquisitor.
 
The Galactic Republic still enjoys having a much larger number of controlled planets and a much larger population. However, even on planets that the Republic owns, you never know what kinds of creatures or indiginous populations roam the countryside.
 
The Galactic Republic also has the best offensive starship, at least out of the faction based ones. Players can always buy better starships off the black market.
 
The Sith Empire
The Sith Empire is on the rise and is for any player who enjoys being the underdog. The Sith Empire is also the more mysterious of the two SWTOR allegiances, and their goals are not well understood.
 
The only class which seems to have major differences between the two allegiances is the Sith Inquisitor versus the Jedi Consular. The Consular heals and does force damage, but he also wields a light-saber. The Inquisitor on the other hand can heal as well, but looks to rely more on magic (lightning) based damage and does not seem to wield a light-saber at all based on game-play videos.
 
The Sith Empire’s two faction-based ships include an all-around average ship and a Stealth Recon ship (hard to detect, if players can own it would be great for traveling while avoiding getting attacked).
 
Finally, since most people maybe want to be Jedis, so they will choose the Galactic Republic. Or if you are not belong to then you can think about the Sith Empire.
